Summary
For our Semester I Final we were tasked with creating a birthday counter. This birthday counter would use a single 7-segment Display and would list out our birthday. My birthday is February 18th 2006, so the display will list out 02-18-06.

Working Circuit
I do not have a video of it working due to me not knowing I had to record a video. I started playing around with it trying to do different things and once I learned I needed a video I didn't have the original design working.
How it Works
The 4 LED's is my counter, the top right one will tick off and the next 3 will progressively fill up until all 3 are on. This in turn creates 8 bits which will be used for the circuit. I used 1 NOR, 1 XOR, 4 AND, & 3 OR gates. I used these gates because it required the least amount of components. The three LED's are X,Y,Z and they are put into the circuit to allow the 7-segment Display to show 02-18-06

Reflection
Overall I think the Birthday Counter went well. I wish I had a bigger bread board so I didnt have to jump across the place and I could make my bread board neater. One of my issues was my D-flipflops not working. Everytime I would put in a new D-flipflop component the 7-segment display would show different things. I also had the problem of my wires disconnecting and then the output would turn into 1 and then I would have to check the entire mess of circuit to find what disconnected or else nothing would work.
